Womens Percussion Workshops
Geraldine runs percussion workshops for women. These workshops are inspired by the traditional music of West Africa, mainly focussing on the djembe and dunduns (bass drums), but experimenting with other instruments (krin, water drum, balafon), vocals and body percussion. The sessions cover traditional Malinke rhythms celebrating women and girls, as well as original compositions created by the group. Participants are encouraged to experiment with percussive techniques in a joyful and supportive environment.
All equipment will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own instruments.
